Food
for Work: |
Food
assistance from World Food Programme- Till date the
programme received 3975 MT of rice and 134.22 MT of
pulses as food assistance from WFP. Under WFP works
every labourer is paid 2.5 KG rice and 200 gram pulses
costing Rs. 10 only while as the prevailing market
rate of there commodities is Rs. 18-20. Rs. 10 is
deducted from their wages. The rest amount of the

Food storage and reporting workshop as rice and 25% in
cash . The deducted Rs. 10 is deposited in Gram Kosh
(village fund) The amount of these Gram Kosh is used
for the expansion of the WF programme in other
villages. The food assistance from WFP is being used
for people' participatory works and specially for
works related to land and water management.

Health-
Many
natural villages are located in remote and inaccessible
areas. It was decided to take-up health related inputs as
entry point activity. The measure component of the

(i).
A comprehensive campaign to address the high MMR & IMR of
the region is being mounted through a titenus - toxide
immunization drive of women in the age group of 15-45 years
in close collaboration with the district administration and
medical authorities. |

(II). For effective control in IMR & MMR 100% registration
of pregnancies are being completed to assure good health of
women before and after birth. Rs. 15 has been entitle for
encouragement of Dai on registration and vaccination of each
pregnant women. The registration and other information would
be prepared on three copies. First one will be submitted to
Sector Supervisor of health department, second copy will be
submitted to NGO for confirmation and payment and third for
their own record.
(III). Operation of mobile health clinic (Vans) have started
at selected points in all 9 project blocks. 35 stations at
Surguja, 21 at Jashpur and 5 at Raigarh have been identified
at these blocks. people of 4-5 village get benefits by these
mobile health clinics. The medicine and other arrangements
are being made by the programme. 8504 people has already got
benefited with these mobile clinic.

(IV). Atleast one Trained Birth Attendant is being allocated
in each natural village. Training to untrained birth
attendant are also being furnished as well as provided the
medical kits. At every successful birth the attendant will
be paid Rs. 25 as complementary.
(V). A cadre of 101 local Community Health Volunteers (CHVs)
has prepared from within the SHGs, providing basic
preventive health training in collaboration with the
district medical authorities. 47 CHVs has already got
training of first module and after three months the training
for second module will be organized. |
The day of visit of the vehicle in the remote villages is
fixed. Total 8504 villagers have been benefited through
these mobile clinics. .

Kala Jattha:-
8 Kala
Jatthas (traditional performing artists) are performing
in programme areas in collaboration with NGOs. The
members of the Kala Jatthas are the local artists and
have been trained.
For awareness building and publicity of the programme different Kala
Jattha groups has been and been trained by resource
persons at project blocks. |
